Why should I subscribe to your “zine?”
Because you are a discerning literatus/a/um.
No, seriously.
Because you can’t get enough melancholy observational place-oriented writing in your life? Or because it’s free? I dunno.
Okay, so what’s Dream Whip #16?
It’s the latest issue of the zine I’ve been writing since the 90’s. Mostly travel stories. Usually it’s on paper, but I thought I’d try “dropping” it here, little by little. It’s an experiment.
Travel stories?
Places I’ve been. The back sides of places, mostly. The view from the back alley, you know? Where the stuff that’s supposed to stay out of sight gets stashed.
Still not sure I’m getting it.
Okay, here are some excerpts from the index for issue #14:
Adderley, Cannonball
American Idol
Bike Ferry
Cicadas
City, compared to old girl/boyfriend
Couch surfing
Crushes, pathetic
Ghosts
Graveyard shift
Happy, Texas
Heart, broken
Kraftwerk
1939 World’s Fair
1-800-EAT-SHIT
Punk rock, Yugoslavian
Skin Rashes, Patron Saint of
Tiger Stadium, abandoned
Tofu scramble, map
Voice on radio, Gaelic
Weather radar
Now I’m really confused.
